Resato International – the high-pressure technology specialist within the Verder family – has contributed to the development of a hydrogen station that cuts the refueling process on hydrogen vehicles such as the Toyota Mirai to just five minutes. This is a milestone for the everyday suitability of hydrogen engines.
The solution uses Resato’s proprietary 700 bar technology and is of particular interest to fleet operators as it enables them to refuel their vehicles more efficiently and faster than ever before, thus shortening downtimes to a minimum.
The solution is highly significant for the world society: Hydrogen is regarded as the fuel of the future because it powers vehicles without producing any climate-harming emissions. What’s more, it can be produced not only by chemical conversion of fossil fuels, but also by electrolysis of water into hydrogen and oxygen. Provided the energy required for this process is generated from renewable sources, hydrogen is climate-neutral “well-to-wheel” – in other words, from production to consumption. It therefore plays an important role in the ongoing battle against climate change.
Experts consider the density of filling stations to be the only critical issue. Just one more reason for Resato to push ahead with development in this area.
